Gary A. Riggs, 63, of Marion died Monday at St. Luke Hospital.

He was born July 31, 1951, to Robert E. and Elsie Riggs in Placerville, California. He and his wife, Kim, were married in 2007. He worked in a variety of jobs, and liked rebuilding cars and touring on his motorcycle.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Shannon James of Marion; a brother, Rocky Riggs of Truckee, California; stepsons Chris Snyder of Newton, Eric Riggs of Larned, and Billy Prater of Lansing; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Marion Christian Church. The family requests memorials to the Marion County Toy Run.
