Geraldine “Geri” Grentz, 85, died March 17 at her home.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Aulne Methodist Church.

She was born July 23, 1931, to Cecil and Lena Bolte Hornbaker at Montezuma.

At the age of 9, she became a foster daughter to G.S. Klassen and his wife in Hillsboro.

She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1950, and married Rex Seibel of Marion.

In 1956, she began working as assistant school superintendent and then later as district court clerk.

She married Gary Grentz in 1989.

She is survived by her husband Gary of the home; stepdaughter Sheri Kempton of Hutchinson; brothers Wayne Hornbaker of Rociada, New Mexico, and Cecil Hornbaker of Washington, District of Columbia; four step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Aulne United Methodist Church.
