GHS art students earn ribbons in contest

Goessel High School art students took home a record 19 ribbons in the Wheat State league Art Festival April 6 in Little River.

Merit award ribbons went to Nick Haines, Shanna Klassen, Raney Schroeder, Brittny Czarnowsky, Alisha Bence, Aleia Hanes, and Jake Smucker.

Red-ribbon winners were Raney in acrylic, Makaila Schmidt in sculpture, and Austin Voth in black and white photography.

White-ribbon winners were Alisha in manipulated photography, Aleia in graphic design, and Neal Brubaker in black and white photography.

The entries will be on display in the Emil Kym Gallery beginning Monday through May 5, the school’s spring concert.
