GHS boys depend on Berkholz, Goertzen

The Goessel High School boys track team is gaining experience in several events, but still lean heavily on the sprinting speed of John Berkholz and the stamina of Laird Goertzen in the distance events. Berkholz had a season-best performance in the long jump and the 100-meter dash.
The Bluebirds competed April 12 at Hesston.
Results:
100-meter dash — 5. John Berkholz, 11.52 seconds.
200 — 4. Berkholz, 23.91.
400 — 2. Berkholz, 52.81.
1600 — 2. Laird Goertzen, 4:58.62.
3200 — 1. Laird Goertzen, 10:57.09; 5. Heath Goertzen, 12:16.96.
Long jump — 2. Berkholz, 19 feet 10 inches.
