Goessel High School students earned ribbons at Heart of America League Art Festival April 8 at Canton-Galva High School.

Derek Kruger won first place for black-and-white drawing. Weston Hiebert placed second in oil painting.

Evan Hiebert placed second in graphic design, and Anthony Esau earned third. Esau also won a merit award for photograph manipulation.

Jessica Cleveland was third in black-and-white photography and was awarded the Tyler Dickerson Merit Award.

“I never did photography before,” Cleveland said. She has more experience painting, but said she now likes photography.
