Goessel High School students earned ribbons at Heart of America League Art Festival April 8 at Canton-Galva High School.
Derek Kruger won first place for black-and-white drawing. Weston Hiebert placed second in oil painting.
Evan Hiebert placed second in graphic design, and Anthony Esau earned third. Esau also won a merit award for photograph manipulation.
Jessica Cleveland was third in black-and-white photography and was awarded the Tyler Dickerson Merit Award.
“I never did photography before,” Cleveland said. She has more experience painting, but said she now likes photography.
The students’ artwork is on display through April 29 in the Emil Kym Art Gallery at GHS.
