Goessel athletes set best marks

The Bluebirds competed well April 13at the Berean meet.
The schools participating finished in the same order for the boys and girls divisions. First place went to Berean, Hesston was second, Goessel third, Inman took fourth, and Peabody-Burns finished fifth.
Earning first place for the Bluebird boys were Weston Hiebert in the 300-meter hurdles and Evan Hiebert in the high jump, tying his personal best.
Goessel’s 4x400 relay team took first, with runners John Berkholz, Braden Unruh, Cameron Stultz, and Weston Hiebert.
For the girls’ team, Tia Goertzen picked up two first-place medals in the triple jump and the 300-meter hurdles. Aspen Frey came home with a first-place medal in the 1600. The 4x800 relay team of Brittny Czarnowsky, Kendra Flaming, Karina Harvey, and Frey took first place for the second week in a row and the 4x400 relay also brought home gold with the team of Frey, Jessica Harvey, Karina Harvey, and Flaming. Czarnowsky ran her personal best in the 3200. Corey Buller earned a personal best in the triple jump.
The Bluebird team will host a meet Tuesday at Goessel.
