The Little River girls’ basketball team came to Goessel High School Friday and played a Heart of America League game with the Bluebirds.
GHS trailed the ranked team, 7-6, at the end of one quarter and, 22-12, at halftime.
The Little River trapping defense allowed the team to extend its lead even further in the second half. The game ended with a Little River 43-25 victory.
Goessel was led in scoring by Aspen Frey with 10 points, Jessica Goertzen dropped in six, Karis Janzen four, Kendra Flaming three, and Shanna Klassen two points.
The girls are now 1-4 in league play and 3-7 overall.
Goessel will play in the Berean Tournament this week.
