Goessel Board of Education voted Monday to spend $23,000 to replace a wrecked 1999 GMC Yukon with an eight-passenger 2014 Ford Econoline from Midway Motors.
Superintendent John Fast said that insurance will cover $3,175.
Board members also approved three donations, two from patrons who wished to remain anonymous: a $50 contribution to the Selzer Scholarship Foundation, and $500 to the K-12 music department. A $1,000 insurance grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield to the Family and Consumer Sciences Department also was approved.
In other business:
- Para professional Jody Fensky resigned after 18 years.
- Fast said High school and middle school teachers would be reviewing common core reading and language arts, while elementary teachers would be focusing on a gardening program schedule during an in-service day Monday.
- Bids for a school addition project are due Jan. 20 and will be considered by the board.
- Art instructor Kacie McGee discussed her background and goals for her students.
