At the Tescott Invitational track meet May 4, 15 teams participated and the Goessel boys finished in a tie for second with Mankato-Rock Hills with 85 points. Both teams trailed first-place Lincoln by only two points.
It was a windy day, but several relay teams brought home gold.
Goessel’s 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay, with John Berkholz, Braden Unruh, Cameron Stultz, and Weston Hiebert, earned first place with season best times in both events. Weston Hiebert finished first in the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles.

Bluebird boys took home second place April 30 out of 11 teams participating at Remington in a stiff wind and cool temperatures with 119 points.
The two relay teams took first along with Weston Hiebert in the 300 hurdles and Unruh in the 200-meter dash. Berkholz earned gold twice, in the 100 and 400. Evan Hiebert picked up a first-place finish in the high jump.

Girls team
Although the 4x800 relay team, composed of Karina Harvey, Kendra Flaming, Ali Buller, and Aspen Frey, was the only first-place event for the Bluebirds, Goessel mustered enough points to finish in second place.
Tia Goertzen scored points in three individual events with all being her best performances this year. Flaming, Harvey, Frey, and Brittny Czarnowsky also set personal bests in individual events.
