Goessel girls finished ahead of Remington by four points to win the Marion cross country meet Tuesday.
“This course is one of the more challenging courses in our regular season,” said head coach Brian Lightner. It was a 92-degree day with light wind, making the times a little slower than a cooler meet a week earlier.
Elsie Clark led the Bluebirds with a 7th place medal in 24:14.10. Elyse Boden medaled with a 14th place finish in 26:24.90. Porclein Unruh finished 21st and Cassandra crossed the line at 22nd with Edel Miller racing for 27th place.
Alyssa Boden came in sixth in the junior varsity race for the Bluebirds.
For the Goessel varsity boys’ team, Dawson Duersken picked up a 9th place medal in 20:07.40, with Jerah Schmidt right behind in 10th place at 20:22.00.
