Goessel football loes at Canton
The Goessel football team scored one touchdown in each of the first two quarters, but Canton-Galva was able to put up four touchdowns in each quarter, ending the game 64-12 at half-time.
The Bluebirds did pick up 146 yard passing but only 34 yards on the ground.
Senior Lucas Hiebert snagged 5 catches for 120 yards, and for the first time in his high school career scored 2 touchdowns. Hiebert went 55 yards on one scoring catch and 17 yards on the other.
Josh Schmidt threw for 30 yards with one of those catches being a touchdown and Chase Flaming threw for 116 yards with 1 touchdown. Junior Matt Regier led the Bluebirds with 7.5 tackles, and senior Kellen Froese had 4.5 tackles.
Goessel is 1-7 overall and 0-4 in district play. Goessel will be at home Thursday for the last game of the season against Central Plains (Claflin) which is 4-0 in district competition.
