Goessel foundation awards grants

Six entities will benefit from $3,420 awarded April 21 by Goessel Community Foundation.

The largest grant, $1,000, went to Bethesda Home to supplement expenses for its Friendship Meal program. Goessel Senior Endowment provided $950, and the remainder came from the Impact Fund.

Families and Communities Together received $500 for literacy kits and supplies for children from birth to 5 years who attended the Goessel Elementary School Sensational Senses community event.

Marion County Fire District No. 2 received $500 to supplement the cost of new 800 MHz radios.

Goessel Public Library received $500 to help fund Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math after-school activities.

Tabor Food Pantry received $500 to buy supplies and Keith’s Foods cards.

Heart to Heart Child Advocacy Center received $420 for two anatomic dolls for their work with victims of child abuse.

Dwight M. Flaming, assisted by board members, highlighted the three-year capital campaign, “Giving Back to Goessel,” demonstrating various ways of giving to the Impact Fund.
