With an 8-0 league record, the Bluebirds clinched the Wheat State League title in volleyball Sept. 28. Goessel picked up two more wins at Wakefield in dominating fashion.
The Bluebirds left no doubt against Wakefield winning 25-15 and 25-14. Against Hope, the outcome was even clearer, as the Bluebirds won 25-10 and 25-13.
Aimee Flaming led the team with 19 assists and had six aces serving. Tia Goertzen also notched six aces, with Jennifer Van Horn collecting 10 kills, and Paige Booton leading the team with six digs.
Although Goessel will have more volleyball games against Wheat State League teams, these first eight matches counted for league standings. Some of the other schools have not completed the final league matches, so the standings have not yet been announced.
Goessel now owns a 17-8 overall record. They played at home Tuesday against Solomon and Little River.
