Goessel girls set school record at Bennington

Sports writer

With 11 schools participating April 13 at the Bennington track and field meet, Goessel girls finished sixth with 45 points.

In the process, both relay teams finished first and the 4x800-meter squad set a school record with a time of 10 minutes, 23.40 seconds.

This time beats the old record by 11 seconds.

Relay team members are Kendra Flaming, Isabel Tamoj, Karina Harvey, and Aspen Frey.

Flaming was the only Bluebird to win an individual event as she took first place in the 400m dash.

An April 14 meet at Bluestem saw the Goessel girls finish third out of five teams.

Gold-medal performances were turned in by Flaming in the 400.

She ran her fastest time of the season at 1:04.

Aspen Frey also took first in the 1600m run.
