Goessel JH musicians lauded

Goessel Junior High School students participated in the Wheat State League Music Festival on March 6 in White City.

All students in grades 6, 7, and 8 sang in the choir and earned a I+ rating for their performance and accolades from the adjudicators for their vocal tone quality.

The Boys’ Ensemble also earned a I+. The Girls Ensemble and the select Mixed Ensemble earned I++ ratings.

The Goessel Junior High Band earned a I rating for their performance. All band students also performed in one of the following ensembles: Saxophone Ensemble, Clarinet Quintet, Flute Quintet, Trumpet Quartet, Low Brass Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Brass Quintet, Woodwind Quintet, and Clarinet Ensemble.

Individual performances included vocal soloists Joshua Schmidt, Chase Flaming, Jennifer Meysing, Anna Wiens, Kaytlin Shipp, Lanna Wagner, Kylee Unruh, Aleena Cook, Alicen Meysing, Riley Jarvis, Olivia Duerksen, Autumn Strecker, Rebekah Harrell, Alyssa Booton, Luke Unruh, and Page Hiebert.

Instrumental soloists were Page Hiebert, Luke Unruh, Olivia Duerksen, Shelbi Stultz, Autumn Strecker, Alyssa Booton, Ashley Hiebert, Joshua Schmidt, Anna Wiens, Jennifer Meysing, Zach Wiens, Kenny Hammond, Aleena Cook, Lanna Wagner, Kylee Unruh, Tiana Base, Kaytlin Shipp, and Alicen Meysing.

Renae Schmidt Peters directed the choir and Marcia Brubaker provided accompaniment.

Rob Tierney directed all band numbers and Karen Unruh accompanied the instrumental soloists.
