The Goessel Jr. High volleyball team capped off an undefeated season by winning the Wheat State League Tournament Monday in Hope.
In the first round of play, Goessel won against Rural Vista 25-9, 25-19.
Second round action pitted them against county rival’s Peabody-Burns with game scores of 25-13, 25-15.
The test of their mental toughness came in the championship match where they held off Wakefield 25-15, 25-19 to take home the championship medals.
“What a great job the team did during the whole season, staying undefeated in league play and then winning the tournament in three straight matches,” coach Susan Saunders said.
