Goessel loses to Little River in football
Goessel accumulated 211 yards of offense, but it was no match for the eight-man football team from Little River. The first quarter was a defensive battle, with the Redskins leading 6-0.
Dylan Lindeman sprinted for a 57-yard touchdown with 7:31 to play in the second quarter, but Little River had already scored twice and would score three more times before halftime, leading the Bluebirds 43-6.
Luke Wiens completed a pass to Carson Sterk for 17 yards and a Bluebird score to cut into the deficit to 43-12. But Little River ended the game 57-12 with two more scores in the third quarter.
Lindeman threw for 70 yards and Wiens connected on passes for 24 yards. Zach Zogleman ran 16 times for 38 yards. Jacob Hagewood caught five passes for 47 yards and Kale Funk snagged three passes for 14 yards. Zogleman led the team with 9.5 tackles followed by Wiens with 7.5 stops.
The Goessel football record is now 0-5 overall and 0-1 in district play. Goessel will play at Ellinwood on Friday for another district matchup.
