Goessel natives to play in world premiere
Goessel High School alumni Evan Fast, Kristin Unruh, and Kyle Unruh are part of the Bethel College Wind Ensemble that will play the world premiere of composer Steve Danyew’s piece, “Goodnight, Goodnight.”
The Bethel College Chamber Orchestra and Wind Ensemble’s spring concert will be 7 p.m. Sunday in Krehbiel Auditorium at the college’s fine arts center.
Fast plays alto saxophone and Kyle Unruh plays trumpet. Kristin Unruh will be the sole piccolo player in the ensemble.
The ensemble will also perform “Nitro” by Frank Ticheli, “A Grainger Couplet” by Percy Grainger, and “Event Horizon” by Paul Rudy, which the ensemble gave its world premiere April 11.
The Bethel College Chamber Orchestra will open the program with Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 1.”
Timothy Shade will conduct both groups. The concert will be free and open to the public.
