GOESSEL: Reimer, Hoffman medal in regional, head for state

Goessel traveled to Meade for 2A cross-country regionals and two athletes medaled individually, with the boys’ team also qualifying for the state meet Saturday in Wamego.
Kristen Hoffman finished the four-kilometer race in 17 minutes, 48 seconds for ninth place. Hoffman will be the only runner from the Goessel girls’ team to compete at Wamego.
In the boys’ race, Jared Reimer earned the third-place medal, with a time of 17:55 in the 5k race. The Goessel team of boys did well enough to bring home the third-place plaque and qualified to run as a team at the state competition.
Hoffman will run at 9 a.m. and the Goessel boys will run at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wamego Country Club.
