Goessel scholars win league title

Centre places third

The Goessel High School scholars’ bowl team won the inaugural Wheat State League title Jan. 24 at Hope High School.

The Bluebirds were undefeated in pool play, with wins against Peabody-Burns, 70-30; Wakefield, 80-25; and Centre, 70-30.

In the championship round, GHS defeated Little River, 50-10; Centre, 50-20; and Solomon, 90-negative 5.

Centre High School

The Centre High School Cougars earned third place in the league. They earned a 2-1 record in pool play, with victories against Wakefield, 50-40; and Peabody-Burns, 50-20. They lost against Goessel, 70-30.

In the championship round, the cougars defeated Little River, 10-0, while losing to Solomon, 70-20; and Goessel, 50-20.
