The Goessel girls pulled off some good performances April 7 at the Peabody-Burns Central Kansas Track League meet.

Its 75 points put the team within 13 points of first place.

The Lady Warriors finished fourth.

Little River won with 88 points, followed by Peabody-Burns 84, Fairfield 81, Goessel 75, and Bluestem 26 points.

Amy Brubaker, Aspen Frey, Karina Harvey, and Kendra Flaming all came away with wins in individual events.

Two relay teams also finished first for the Bluebirds.

The boys’ team outscored the second place team by 51 points to claim the championship.

Individuals winning their events were Craig Banman in all three sprints, Weston Hiebert in both hurdle races, Jared Reimer in both distance races, Anthony Esau in the long jump, and Evan Hiebert in the high jump.

Goessel also finished first in the 4x100- and 400-meter relays.

The team competes twice this week, with its next meet Friday at Bennington.
