The Goessel High School volleyball team notched two more victories this past week when it traveled to Berean Academy and defeated Peabody-Burns and Berean Academy.
In a tough match against PBHS, the Bluebirds won 25-21, 25-22. They then dominated Berean 25-11, 25-13.
Karina Harvey had 23 digs as defensive specialist and the Bluebirds were strong from the serving line with three players, Kristin Unruh, Aspen Frey, and Harvey all serving 100 percent.
Jessica Goertzen accumulated 33 assists in the four games as hitters Karis Janzen and Rinda Duerksen recorded 16 and 12 kills respectively.
Goessel played at Little River Tuesday with league matches against Little River and Sedgwick, however results were not available at press time.
GHS is now 7-2 in the Heart of America league and 21-6 overall.
The Bluebirds learned their regional tournament will be Oct. 21 at Burrton.
Familiar teams in the tournament will include Central Christian, Burrton, Little River, Hope, and Elyria Christian.
