The Goessel High School volleyball team won three matches Sept. 2 on its home court, all by scores of 2-0.
GHS seemed focused and rotated well as it separated itself from the competition.
The Cardinals from Ell-Saline put a fight in the first game, but Goessel won the last several points to claim a 25-16 victory.
The Bluebirds came away with an easy victory in game two, 25-12.
Against Hope in match two, the first game was tied early at eight. However, the Bluebirds went on two long scoring stretches, with Aspen Frey and Karina Harvey serving well, to put the game away at 25-9.
Game two against the Lions was even easier as GHS won 25-7.
The final match was not much of a test for the Bluebirds either, as they defeated Elyria Christian 20-6 and 25-12.
Harvey and Kendra Flaming served at a 95 percent rate, and Jessica Goertzen led the team with 44 assists in the three matches.
Harvey notched 12 digs in the victories.
The Bluebirds were in action Tuesday with Heart of America League matches against Canton-Galva, Hutch Trinity, and Bennington at home.
The team will play host Saturday to the Goessel Invitational.
