New water and sewer rates are announced for Goessel residents and customers in the surrounding area who are served by the city.

Customers with ¾ inch water meters will pay $12.25 a month for the first 1,000 gallons of water; $4.42 for each additional 1,000 gallons up to 5,000 gallons; and $4.77 for each 1,000 gallons after that. They will also be charged a surcharge of $8 per month for water service improvements.

Customers with 1 inch water meters will pay $32.03 a month for the first 5,000 gallons of water; $4.42 for each additional 1,000 gallons up to a total of 7,500 gallons; and $4.77 for each 1,000 gallons after that. They will also be charged a surcharge of $8 per month for water service improvements.

Customers with 1½ inch or 2 inch water meters will pay $50.52 a month for the first 7,500 gallons of water; $4.42 for each additional 1,000 gallons of water up to a total of 15,000 gallons; and $4,77 for each 1,000 gallons after that. They will also be charged a surcharge of $12 per month for water service improvements.

Customers with 4 inch water meters will pay $79.22 for the first 20,000 gallons; $4.42 for each additional 1,000 gallons up to 40,000 gallons, and $4.47 for each 1,000 gallons after that. They will also be charged a surcharge of $16 per month for water service improvements.

Monthly charges for water by users who are not city residents will be twice the charge assessed to city residents.
