Goessel golf team rebuilds

Three players will return from Goessel’s state-qualifying team from last season: Noah Schrag, Chevy Gagnon, and Kyle Valdois.

Schrag was named first team all-state by Kansas Golf Coaches Association.

But with no returning juniors from last year’s team, that means no experienced seniors this year.

“This will be another rebuilding year with three players returning, and I am excited to see what we can accomplish,” coach Chad Lindeman said.

Twenty students have decided to try out for golf this season

“I am hoping that we can find a few more to add to the varsity level to make a team for regionals and hopefully state,” Lindemen said. “This could mean rotating people around to see what we can do.”

The biggest challenge right now is finding six players to play at the varsity level.

The goal this season for them is to be competitive as a team and get back to the state tournament.
