Hillsboro golfer Andrew Meier medaled in 10th place at the Sacred Heart Invitational.
Overall, Hillsboro coach Scott O’Hare said he was pleased with the progress the team made so far.
“Considering our limited practice time due to weather, I’m pleased by the fact that all four of these guys continue to improve,” he said. “As a team, we shot 38 stokes better at Salina than we did at our home meet earlier this month. All four reduced their score considerably and they all felt like with just a little more improvement in a couple areas, they have room to drop quite a few more strokes per round. That is exciting. With only two tournaments in, I’m hoping these guys continue to improve at this rate and continue to gain confidence.”
O’Hare believes the team’s preseason goal — a team score of 350 — is well in reach.
The results from Sacred Heart were: Evan Ollenburger, 88; Andrew Meier, 90; Graham Pankratz, 102; and Philip Ediger, 107.
