Hillsboro High School golfers placed fifth of 10 schools with a team score of 458 Friday at a home meet.
Coach Scott O’Hare said the Trojans improved their collective score by 50 strokes, and attributed their improvement to several factors.
“Their ball striking is getting more consistent and they are beginning to develop some confidence in their swings,” O’Hare said. “The weather conditions were much better [than at Herington], plus we were on our own course, which helped.”
Individually, Elliot Ollenburger lost a tiebreaker after shooting a 96 to place fifth.
Colin Settle was 16th with a 103, Elias Werth was 24th with a 113, Lane Flaming was 38th with a 146, and Carson Herbel withdrew from the tournament
