NORTHWEST OF DURHAM:   Grocery shower held for Wiebes

A grocery shower was held on Sept. 6 at Cottonwood Grove Christian School for Anthony and Beth Wiebe, Tylan and Jamie who returned to their home in Roxbury after doing a year of service in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The Morning Star Church hosted the shower.

Ron and Dora Unruh went to Manhattan on Sept. 6 for the wedding rehearsal of Katelin Unruh and Josh Hendricks at Scenic View Inn, after they attended a supper with the wedding party. Mark and Barb Unruh had left earlier on Sept. 6.

The wedding took place at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 7 at Scenic Valley Inn. It was an outside wedding attended by a large crowd on a very warm evening. Those that went from Marion County were Mark and Barb Unruh and Sarah, Ron and Dora Unruh, Warren and Anita Unruh, Kyle and Jenna, Clayton and Betty Wiebe, Roy and Nadine Davis, Rick and LaVae Koehn and boys.

Clayton Wiebe was honored by his family with a picnic dinner Sept. 8 in Marion Central Park. Guest were the honoree, Betty Wiebe, Nelson and Bev Wiebe and family, Travis and Sharon Koehn and family, Wayne and Loralee Wiebe and family and Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family.

The evening of Sept. 5 the patrons of Cottonwood Grove Christian School gathered at the school for a welcome for the teachers and a time of fellowship.

Larry and Wanda Koehn were guests for dinner in the home of Lena Koehn and Margie Jantz in Newton Sept. 8. Other guests were Wanda’s aunt Lorene Unruh of Eaton Ok., Warren and Jane Unruh, Ethel Jantz and Carol Koehn of Moundridge, William and Donna Koehn of Burns, and Ethel Jantz of Burns.

On Sept. 5 Ron and Dora Unruh met Julie Unruh of Charlotte, N.C., and Dwight Unruh of Melbourne, Fla., for dessert in Hillsboro. Jim and Brenda Enns also joined them. Julie and her son Dwight had come to Kansas for the Unruh-Hendricks wedding.

The afternoon of Sept. 8 the Ron Unruh family gathered at the Unruh home for visiting, lunch and homemade ice cream. Those that were able to enjoy time together were Jim and Brenda Enns, Lon and Deb Hiebert, Mark and Barb Unruh, Warren and Anita Unruh, Kyle and Jenna, David and Ashley Enns and family, Matt and Lisa Stauffer of Seattle, Wa., and Darren and Corina Enns of Riley, Kan.
