Preliminary hearings for Alton L. Franklin and DeQuinte Oshea Flournoy in McPherson County District Court have been delayed from Dec. 10 to 1 p.m. Jan. 21.

Franklin and Flournoy were both arrested in September and charged with aiding and abetting murder in the second degree in connection with the beating death of Tabor College junior Brandon Brown on Sept. 16 in McPherson.

Brown was on the Tabor College football team. Franklin and Flournoy were on the McPherson College football team in 2011 but weren’t on the roster this year. Both defendants were 19 at the time of their arrests and came to McPherson College from Dallas, Texas.

The preliminary hearings were originally scheduled for Oct. 29.
