Dick and Carla Hein of Hillsboro and Homer and Jan Gattis of Hesston announce the engagement of their children, Carmen Hein and Brad Gattis, both of Lenexa.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Hillsboro High School and Tabor College. She will graduate in May 2009 with a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Kansas, Lawrence. She is a program tutor for Kansas Kids at Gear Up.

Her fiancé is a graduate of Hesston High School and Tabor College. He is a graphic designer and marketing specialist for Kansas City Prudential Realty.

The couple plans to be married Oct. 4 at Hesston Mennonite Church, Hesston.
