Hillsboro High School forensics placed fifth Saturday at a 3A state championships tournament in Wichita. Students from 50 schools competed in the tournament.

Nolan Dirks placed sixth in poetry; Rochelle Cecil, seventh in informative speaking; Dirks and Joe Fisher, seventh in duet acting; Jessica Elliott, eighth in prose; Hayley Pankratz, 11th in poetry; and Matt Klenda and Chance Reese, 12th in improvised duet acting.

Carly Weisbeck received an “outstanding” rating in prose at state festival in Wichita.

Jandee Miles was a great help at the tournament, Coach Terry Bebermeyer said.
