HHS girls defeat Winfield

The Hillsboro High School girls basketball team rode a big first half to a 59-43 victory against Winfield on Tuesday in the Trojan Classic.

The Lady Trojans led 35-15 at halftime. The team scored 28 points on 26 turnovers for the game. Addie Lackey led Hillsboro scoring with 16 points; Callie Serene contributed 13 points,; and Tena Loewen posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The Lady Trojans will play at 6:30 p.m. Thursday against Thomas More Prep-Marian of Hays.
