HHS team wins math competition
Hillsboro High School students won the third-annual McPherson College Mathematics Competition Feb. 18.
More than 100 teams and 400 students competed in the event, which included individual and team competitions.
The team of Cody Blackketter, David Loewen, Briana Loewen, and Brandon McMillen won the overall team competition against larger schools.
Also competing for HHS were Ben Gottsch, Daniel Jost, Andy Klaassen, and Nicholas Mueller.
Individually, David Loewen earned second place among all seniors, and Briana Loewen placed third among all juniors.
