Hiebert wins 3 individual races, is part of winning relay

By winning three individual races and serving as one leg of a relay team that took first, Goessel freshman Brittney Hiebert helped the Bluebirds track team win the Canton-Galva track meet April 28 at the Bluebird track in Goessel.
Hiebert won the 400 meters, the 800, and 1,600, and also ran in the 4x400.
Aleena Cook finished first in the 100, second in the 200, second in high jump, and was a member of the winning 4x100.
Olivia Duerksen won high jump and long jump, and was a member of the 4x100.
Erin Brubaker won the 100- and the 300-meter hurdles, and was part of the winning 4x400.
Jennifer Meysing took first in the 3,200 and placed second in triple jump.
Other Goessel girls that scored points were Rachel Manis, Kara Burkholder, Maddie Meyer, Julia Nightengale, Coral Mitchell, and Laura Volze.
Finishing with 141 team points, Goessel had almost twice as many team points as second place finisher Burrton, who had 76 team points.
Boys
For the boys’ team, Zach Wiens was the only one who medaled in two individual events.
He placed second in the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles.
Chase Flaming took second place in the shot put.
In triple jump, Miguel Guerrero came in second and Josh Schmidt earned third place.
In the 3,200, Dominik Rebholz placed third and Benedikt Heyl came in fifth.
The Bluebirds will host the Wheat State League Track Meet on May 14.
