Hillsboro Trojans faced the Marion Warriors Tuesday night, and the Hillsboro boys showed Marion no mercy.
The Trojans scored 27 points in the first half, while the defense clamped down, holding Marion to a single basket and 5 free throws for a 27-7 halftime lead..
The Trojans scored another 32 points in the second half, and won going away, 59-24.
Carson Herbel led the scoring with 13 points. Darian Ratzlaff scored 10, and Elliot Ollenburger and Austin Cross both scored 8.
Hillsboro girls played a neck and neck game against Marion, but lost at the last second when Marion made a 2-point buzzer beater, leaving the Trojans on the short end of a 38-36 final score.
Tassanee Sanchez led the scoring with 12 points, and Abby Sechrist scored 8.
Hillsboro will face the Nickerson at 6 p.m. Feb. 2 at home.
