Hillsboro City Council selected investment bank Piper Jaffray of Leawood as its financial adviser, said Hillsboro City Administrator Larry Paine.
Piper Jaffray was selected from three candidates interviewed by the city, Paine said.
The council needs a financial adviser for the possibility of issuing a bond, and the city’s previous financial adviser had passed away.
The city is considering using a bond for infrastructure in Hillsboro Business Park.
The council made the decision in a special meeting Monday. The council went into executive session twice, for personnel matters and trade secrets, with no action taken regarding either.
