The boxes and bags items needed to run a successful eatery barely fit in the back of the car.

So Guadalupe Sosme, husband Ezequiel and son, Angel, shoved over a few boxes on their businesses’ last day Sunday evening and made room for more.

The Sosmes are moving El Lorito Mexican Restaurant to Walton and will merge it with Los Pericos in the Old Whistle Stop Café at 106 Main St.

The restaurant will be named Los Pericos and have a revamped menu.

The merger will allow Sosme a better balance between work and family.

“It is busy enough here that I needed to be up here more than I can right now,” she said.

Sosme will be working to get the new venture open soon.

“That’s what we are working on these next few weeks,” she said. “We tried to wait out as long as we could here, but I was having to be here so much I wasn’t able to meet with suppliers.”
