Four students will share student of the month honors at Hillsboro High School.
Haley Plenert, Rebecca Kaufman, Jeff Jorgenson, and Brodie Rathbone are December’s winners, selected by faculty and staff.
Plenert, daughter of Ryan and Nikki VanWart and Jeff Plenert, is involved in Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church youth group and band. She enjoys drawing, singing, gymnastics, and baby-sitting. She wants to major in graphic design with a minor in music.
Kaufman, daughter of Tom and Sherry Kaufman, is involved in Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren youth group, basketball, volleyball, track, student council, and H-Club. She enjoys reading, playing sports, spending time with family, baby-sitting, and making crafts. Her life goal is to participate in and win “The Amazing Race” with her sister, and go to college.
Jorgenson, son of Jeff and JoAnne Jorgenson, is involved in football, club soccer, and youth group. He enjoys soccer and football, and his part-time groundskeeping job at Mennonite Brethren Foundation. He wants to major in civil engineering, possibly at K-State.
Rathbone, son of Mark and Karrie Rathbone, is involved in football, basketball, track, choir, band, Spirit ‘n’ Celebration, and First Mennonite youth group. He is interested in sports, music, video games, and riding motorcycles, and hopes to major in biology.
