Hillsboro library celebrating Kansas 150th

Hillsboro Public Library is celebrating the sesquicentennial of Kansas’ statehood this month with displays highlighting notable Kansas books and authors, as well as trivia. Kansas became the 34th state on Jan. 29, 1861.

Story time with Delora Kaufman is also set to begin Jan. 19 and 20.

The library offers two sessions of story time weekly for children age 3 through kindergarten. The sessions are 10:20 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays.

There is a $4 registration fee for story time to pay for crafts. Registration is open. Story time continues through April.
