David G. Nicholas, Jr., 45, Hillsboro, was sentenced Monday to 15 years in federal prison for three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm following a felony conviction.
According to a press release from the Kansas U.S. Attorney’s Office, Nicholas was a parole absconder in October 2013 when U.S. Marshals arrested him in Marion County. He was convicted on the charges in May. At the time of his arrest, Nicholas possessed a .22-caliber handgun and a .30-06 caliber rifle and ammunition.
