Police report

Sept. 26: Assistance was provided when a vehicle went in a ditch on U.S. 56. Kansas Highway Patrol received assistance with a vehicle search on U.S. 56. A bicycle was reported taken in the 100 block of South Ash Street; the bicycle was later recovered. A threat complaint was filed in the 200 block of North Main Street, when an individual reported that an older juvenile had threatened his child. Trespassing of two vehicles was reported in the 400 block of North Ash Street, when individuals reported someone had entered their vehicles and searched them. Assistance with a reckless driving complaint was provided on U.S. 56.

Sept. 27: A bicycle stolen from Tabor College was recovered and returned to the owner. Personnel form the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services received assistance with an investigation. A harassment complaint was made in the 200 block of North Main Street. A property dispute was reported involving a vehicle. A suspicious vehicle was checked at Second and Adams streets. Officers registered bicycles.

Sept. 28: A theft was reported in the 300 block of North Birch Street when an insurance company reported the theft of air conditioning and heating units; the units were found intact. Officers attended Municipal Court. Emergency medical services personnel received assistance with a call at Tabor gym. A parking complaint was checked in the 500 block of East C Street. Iola Police Department received assistance with an investigation. Assistance was provided to the sheriff’s office with an investigation. SRS received assistance with an investigation.

Sept. 29: Assistance with an investigation was provided to Canton police. An officer recovered video footage from a Wichita Walmart store involving the use of a stolen credit card from Hillsboro. A Newton probation officer received assistance with an investigation. A stranded motorist in the industrial park received assistance. A malfunctioning vehicle alarm was reported in the 300 block of North Main Street. Gunfire was reported near the south city limits. An individual reported being threatened over the phone by former associates.

Thursday: Complaints of skunks were filed at Lincoln and Washington streets and in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street. A dog complaint was filed in the 400 block of South Ash Street. A suspicious person was checked at Park Street and Willow Road. A noise complaint was filed in the 200 block of North Washington Street.

Friday: A threat was reported in the 200 block of North Ash Street when an individual reported that her neighbor had yelled at her and threatened her. Assistance was given to the sheriff’s office with an investigation. City council packets were delivered.

Saturday: A parking complaint was filed in the 600 block of South Main Street. A motorist received assistance at A and Adams streets. A possible break-in was reported in the 300 block of North Birch Street at a vacant house; there was no sign of forced entry. A motorist received assistance at Tabor College. Individuals were reportedly smoking marijuana in a parking lot in the 500 block of East D Street. Curfew violations were reported in Memorial Park.
