Jan. 8: A preliminary breath tester recertification was performed. A report of lost property was taken. Officers assisted Sedgwick County Sheriff with an investigation. A fire alarm at Tabor College was checked. A commercial alarm in the 300 block of North Ash Street was checked.

Jan. 9: A child custody dispute in the 200 block of South Madison Street was Mediated. A theft complaint was checked in Hillsboro Heights; two businesses reported having used vehicle batteries stolen from their property. Two dog complaints were checked. Two people were fingerprinted for employment. Officers assisted city hall with a peddler’s license. Officers assisted the Kansas Bureau of Investigation with an investigation. Officers worked with a community service worker. Officers assisted McPherson County Sheriff with an investigation. A vehicle theft was reported in the 700 block of West Grant Avenue; the vehicle was repossesed, not stolen.

Jan. 10: Officers assisted Social and Rehabilitative Services with an investigation; the children had already been taken into protective custody by law enforcement. Officers worked with a community service worker. Officers assisted Marion County Sheriff with an investigation. A report of missing money from a business in the 100 block of North Main Street was taken. Officers worked with the Hillsboro High School on the job training student. Officers worked with a community service worker.

Jan. 11: A dog complaint was taken. Both dogs were aggressive and were taken into custody. A child custody dispute was mediated. A person reported debris blowing around from a construction site. Officers worked on evidence destruction orders.

Jan. 12: A civil standby was performed. Officer worked with a community service worker. Officers instructed a drug awareness class for EMS students. A parking complaint was checked at Tabor College. A welfare check was performed.

Jan. 13: Officers worked with the community service worker. A driver needing fuel was assisted. A theft report was checked in the 500 block of East D Street; the store clerk reported catching a juvenile trying to steal alcohol from the premises; charges are pending.

Jan. 14: A report of suspicious activity was checked. Officers assisted Sheriff with an injury accident at U.S. 56 and Ash Street. K-9 training was conducted.

Jan. 15: A person turned in found items. Officers followed up on a theft case.

Jan. 16: Found property was returned to the owner. An emergency message was delivered. A motorist assist was performed.

Jan. 17: A dog complaint was checked in the 200 block of South Birch Street. A welfare check was performed on a subject walking east of town. Officers assisted Marion Police Department with an arrest order.

Jan. 18: A person complained about construction work on Adams Street. A traffic complaint was taken downtown.

Jan. 19: Officers assisted EMS. Officers assisted Sheriff with an injury accident at U.S. 56 and Ash Street. KBI returned evidence on a mutual investigation. A report of criminal threat was filed in the 300 block of North Ash Street; the person reported receiving threatening phone calls.

Jan. 20: A motorist was assisted downtown. The Kansas Highway patrol was assisted with a traffic stop; the subject had outstanding warrants. A person reported a possible accident in Hillsboro Heights; owner reported pain transfer on front bumper. A car alarm was checked.
