May 20: Officers investigated a threat and trespass complaint in the 100 block of North Main Street. Officers assisted with an injury investigation for the city. Officers arrested a person for contempt of municipal court. Five children were taken into police protective custody in the 300 block of North Birch Street. Officers stopped two juveniles for drag racing; the juveniles were released to their parents.

May 21: A person reported being harassed on a social media site. Officers checked a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of North Ash Street. Officers checked a domestic disturbance and provided a standby as one resident left the property in the 300 block of North Cedar Street.

May 22: Officers checked a domestic disturbance in the 900 block of East D Street. Officers assisted parents with a small child who was shoplifting. There was a battery complaint in memorial park — a report of a man striking a small child. A runaway report was filed in the 300 block of North Birch Street.

May 23: A man reported someone had started rumors about his wife.

May 24: A harassment complaint was reported in the 300 block of North Lincoln Street. A harassment complaint was reported in the 100 block of South Birch Street; a person reported his daughter being harassed by two male juveniles. Officers arrested a person for driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

May 25: Officers assisted a person lying in a ditch along U.S. 56. Officers assisted with a vagrant person who had been dropped off in Hillsboro. Disorderly conduct was reported in Hillsboro Heights.

May 29: An intoxicated person was reported at Hillsboro library; the subject was removed by officers. A domestic disturbance was reported in the 300 block of South Main Street.

Thursday: Officers served a protection from abuse order in the 300 block of South Main Street.

Saturday: A possible drunk driver was reported in the 500 block of East First Street
