Police report

Aug. 9: A 911 cell phone disconnection was checked in the area of D and Wilson streets. A domestic disturbance was reported after the incident occurred in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street. A Hillsboro man was arrested on suspicion of battery and transported to Marion County Jail following a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of East Second Street. A damaged road sign was reported in the 300 block of East First Street. A welfare check was conducted in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street. A civil stand-by was provided in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street.

Aug. 10: An attempted telephone scam was reported in the 600 block of South Wilson Street. A civil stand-by was provided in the 400 block of Arbor Court. A natural gas leak was reported in the 300 block of South Wilson Street. A welfare check was conducted in the 200 block of East First Street. An individual was fingerprinted for employment purposes. A 911 disconnect in the 600 block of East First Street was checked. A property dispute in Hillsboro Heights was determined to be a civil matter. Suspicious activity was checked at Ash and D streets. Damage was reported in the 400 block of Arbor Court.

Aug. 11: Two women reported being followed by an adult male while they were walking. Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitative Services received assistance with an investigation. A dog complaint was filed in the 300 block of West B Street.

Aug. 12: A traffic complaint was filed on South Ash Street. A Dumpster was reported on fire in the 100 block of West Grand Street. An outside agency received assistance with a background investigation. Suspicious activity was checked in the 500 block of South Adams Street. A dog complaint was reported in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street.

Aug. 13: An individual was fingerprinted for employment purposes. A court services worker received assistance with an investigation. Hillsboro High School reported a student was truant. An individual reported being raped in Hillsboro while visiting friends. The case remains under investigation. A report was filed of underage people attempting to purchase alcohol in the 300 block of North Ash Street. Suspicious activity was reported in the 300 block of South Ash Street.

Aug. 14: Officers arrested people on outstanding warrants. A female reported being threatened over the telephone in the 300 block of North Ash Street. A telephone harassment complaint was reported in the 300 block of North Main Street. A motorist received assistance at D and Ash streets. SRS received assistance with an investigation. A dog complaint was filed in the 200 block of South Washington Street. Suspicious activity was checked near Wilson and C streets and a suspicious vehicle was checked in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street. Assistance was provided to the sheriff’s department with cattle on a roadway. A motorist received assistance in the 500 block of East D Street. A dog complaint was reported in the 400 block of North Adams Street.

Aug. 18: A camper hook-up was provided in Memorial Park. EMS received assistance with a call in the 100 block of South Date Street.
