A vehicle stolen in Marion was recovered Oct. 29 in Hillsboro. Law enforcement found the abandoned vehicle in a tree line just south of Hillsboro city limits near the city’s sewer plant.
Oct. 26: A bicycle was reported stolen from Tabor College in the 200 block of South Elm Street; the bike later was recovered at First and Jefferson streets. Marion County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with the recovery of stolen items.
Oct. 27: A burglary, which occurred several days earlier, was reported in the 100 block of North Main Street where $40 in cash was stolen from a business. An individual reported damage to a door of a vacant building in the 100 block of North Main Street. Assistance was provided to SRS with an investigation. An individual reported the unauthorized use of a debit card which occurred out-of-state when someone used the individual’s personal information and account to pay a utility bill. A bicycle was reported stolen in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street. A motorist received assistance at Grand and Elm streets.
Oct. 28: Court services officers received assistance with home visits. A vehicle lock-out was reported on Willow Road. A homeless person was checked at Hillsboro Heights. Assistance was provided to a motorist at Hillsboro Heights. Damage was reported in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street and was determined to be a civil matter. SRS received assistance with an investigation.
Oct. 29: The sheriff’s department received assistance with a runaway juvenile. A property dispute in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street was determined to be a civil matter. An individual in the 400 block of West Grand Street reported receiving a scam letter. Officers attended accident report training. Suspicious activity was checked in the 400 block of South Ash Street. An individual reported that a child had injured a cat and filed an animal cruelty complaint in the 300 block of North Birch Street.
Thursday: A federal agency received assistance with a background investigation. Vandalism was reported in the 900 block of East D Street when an individual reported that someone had broke a window and screen at his apartment. EMS received assistance with a call in the 400 block of North Ash Street when an individual was transported to a mental health facility.
Friday: A dog complaint was filed in the 400 block of South Main Street. A police escort was provided for the Hillsboro High School volleyball team. Officers assisted with Trick or Treat Main Street. A four-vehicle accident in the 200 block of North Main Street was investigated. Assistance was provided to the county attorney with an investigation. A telephone harassment complaint was filed in the 500 block of West Grand Street.
Saturday: Suspicious activity was checked in the 500 block of North Ash Street. A civil standby was provided in the 200 block of East Jefferson Street. EMS received assistance with a call in the 100 block of West Grand Street. Officers assisted with the Marion County Toy Run. A suspicious vehicle was checked on Willow Road.
