A female reported a dog in the 400 block of South Main Street attacked her Feb. 10 while she was jogging. She was transported to Hillsboro Community Hospital where she was treated and released. The dog was quarantined to be examined for rabies. The owner was cited on vicious animal charges.
Feb. 8: A juvenile disturbance was reported in the 300 block of South Birch Street. Suspicious activity was checked in the 200 block of South Lincoln Street. A non-domestic animal was reported under a porch in the 300 block of South Adams Street.
Feb. 9: A funeral escort was provided. Kansas High Patrol received assistance. Assistance was provided to Lindsborg Police Department with an investigation. An adult male and adult female were involved in a physical altercation in the 200 block of South Jefferson Street. Both people were treated for injuries at local hospitals. A 41-year-old man was arrested on domestic violence charges and booked in Marion County Jail. Assistance was provided to Marion County Sheriff’s Department with an investigation. Suspicious activity was checked in the 100 block of North Main Street.
Feb. 10: A report was received of possible child abuse. Two children were interviewed at a child advocacy center. The case remains under investigation. An out-of-control juvenile was reported in the 300 block of North Main Street. Sumner County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with an investigation.
Feb. 11: Assistance was provided to Marion County Sheriff’s Department with a non-injury accident. A camper hook-up was provided at Memorial Park. A disturbance complaint was filed in the 800 block of East A Street. A DARE class was instructed at Hillsboro Elementary School. A motorist received assistance in the 500 block of East D Street. A noise complaint was filed in the 600 block of West Grand Street.
Thursday: A court services officer received assistance. Four safety classes were taught by an officer at HES. A motorist received assistance in the 800 block of South Ash Street. A parking complaint was filed in the 100 block of North Lincoln Street. An individual reported being assaulted by his adult son at Hillsboro Heights. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival and charges are pending.
Friday: An individual reported the theft of a checkbook in the 300 block of North Ash Street by someone known to her. Charges are pending against a Hillsboro man. A dog complaint was filed in the 500 block of South Main Street. An attempted Internet scam was reported in the 200 block of South Main Street. An animal welfare complaint was made in the 200 block of South Madison Street. Hillsboro City Council packets were delivered. An individual reported his juvenile son had not returned home by his curfew and was concerned. A motorist received assistance in the 400 block of South Adams Street. Hillsboro Fire Department received assistance with a residential fire in the 200 block of West Grand Street.
Saturday: The sheriff’s department received assistance with an investigation. An attempted Internet scam was reported at Hillsboro Heights. Assistance was provided to Lindsborg Police Department.
