Hillsboro Police Department

A 22-year-old Hillsboro man was arrested March 10 for suspicion of battery and criminal restraint in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street. The individual also was charged with criminal damage to property for damaging a Hillsboro police vehicle during the arrest.

March 8: A commercial alarm was activated in Hillsboro Heights. A civil standby was provided in the 500 block of East D Street. Suspicious people were checked in the 200 block of North Ash Street. A welfare check was provided in the 100 block of North Cedar Street.

March 9: Suspicious activity was reported in the 100 block of North Cedar Street when someone trespassed on property. A parking complaint was filed in the 400 block of South Adams Street. A funeral escort was provided. Moundridge Police Department received assistance with an investigation. A civil standby was provided in the 400 block of North Ash Street. Assistance was provided to Peabody Police Department and McPherson County Sheriff’s Department.

March 10: A dog complaint was filed in the 200 block of West B Street. Kansas Highway Patrol received assistance with a vehicle inspection. A juvenile was arrested in the 300 block of South Ash Street for a pickup and detain order and then was transported to juvenile intake. An individual was fingerprinted for employment purposes. A missing child was reported in the 400 block of South Birch Street and later was located.

March 11: Officers attended safety training at Hillsboro City Hall. Dog complaints were filed in the 900 block of East C Street, the 600 block of South Washington Street, and the 200 block of South Ash Street. A parking complaint was checked in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street. Assistance with an investigation was provided to Hesston Police Department.

Thursday: A child custody dispute was reported in the 400 block of North Ash Street. A federal agency received assistance with a background investigation. Assistance was provided with an investigation to Marion County Sheriff’s Department. A funeral escort was provided. A civil standby was provided in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street. Assistance was provided to the sheriff’s department with a possible assault complaint.

Friday: U.S. Probation Department received assistance. A reckless driver complaint was filed in the 800 block of West B Street. Hillsboro City Council packets were delivered. Suspicious activity was checked in the 100 block of South Main Street.

Saturday: A gas skip was reported in the 300 block of North Ash Street. A reckless driver was checked at Hillsboro Heights. A motorist received assistance at U.S.-56 and Ash Street. Suspicious activity was checked at Memorial Park.
