Vandalism was reported March 23 in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street when someone broke a window in a building on Tabor College campus.

March 22: Missing property was reported in the 400 block of South Cedar Street. A civil standby was provided in the 500 block of East D Street. A trespass complaint was filed in the 400 block of South Birch Street.

March 23: Juveniles were reported possibly smoking cigarettes in the area of Hillsboro High School. A peddler’s permit was issued. A motorist received assistance with transportation to Marion. A reckless driver was reported on Ash Street. Kansas Highway Patrol received assistance with a DUI. Suspicious activity was checked in the 200 block of South Ash Street. An individual claimed property that had been reported missing and recovered by police. Assistance was provided to a motorist in the 400 block of North Ash Street. A screen door was reported broken in the 400 block of North Ash Street. Suspicious activity was checked in the 100 block of North Main Street.

March 24: Officers attended CPR and first-aid training. Assistance with an investigation was provide to authorities in California. A dog complaint was filed in the 300 block of South Cedar Street. An officer killed a skunk in the 100 block of South Adams Street. A property dispute was reported in the 100 block of South Adams Street. A welfare check was provided in the 300 block of South Birch Street.

March 25: SRS received assistance with an investigation in the 200 block of East First Street and in the 400 block of South Ash Street. Officers participated in a training exercise at HHS and attended a storm spotter meeting in Marion. Suspicious activity was reported in the 500 block of South Ash Street. A property dispute in the 900 block of East D Street was determined to be a civil matter. Suspicious activity was checked on North Birch Street.

March 26: A trespass complaint was made in the 200 block of East D Street. An individual reported a possible Internet purchase that was not completed which was determined to be a civil matter. A hitchhiker on U.S.-56 was checked. A 911 disconnect was checked in the 100 block of North Main Street. An activated commercial alarm at Hillsboro Heights was checked.

March 27: SRS received assistance with a child abuse investigation in the 900 block of East D Street. Assistance was provide to Marion County Sheriff’s Department with a non-injury accident. Kansas Attorney General’s office received assistance with an investigation. Assistance was provided to motorists at Orchard and Ash streets and at Third and Adams streets.

March 28: Motorists received assistance at A and Adams streets and near Floral and D streets. Assistance was provided to the sheriff’s department with a DUI.

March 29: A mailbox was damaged in the 600 block of South Ash Street as a result of a recent snowfall. A parking complaint was filed at Second and Main streets. A vehicle lock-out was reported at Third and Ash streets. An out-of-control juvenile was reported in the 300 block of South Washington Street. A possible domestic disturbance was investigated in the 300 block of North Main Street. March 30: A dog complaint was filed on Arbor Court. A civil standby was provided in the 300 block of North Main Street. Assistance with an investigation was provided to the attorney general’s office. A parking complaint was filed downtown. An attempted phone scam was reported in the 400 block of South Birch Street. An activated commercial alarm was checked at Hillsboro Heights.

March 31: A vehicle registration was reported lost in the 300 block of North Ash Street. A runaway was reported in the 300 block of South Washington Street and later was located in Wichita. Officers attended municipal court. An issue reported issues with a recent contract for services which was determined to be a civil matter. An officer instructed a DARE class at Hillsboro Elementary School. A noise complaint was filed in the 300 block of North Ash Street.

April 1: An officer instructed a DARE class at HES. A pedestrian was reported causing a traffic hazard on D Street. An individual reported someone had cut a lock on a storage unit in the 100 block of North Ash and replaced it with another lock. Nothing was reported missing at the time. A possible attempted suicide was reported in the 300 block of West D Street. A parking complaint was checked at Washington and B streets. A reckless driver complaint was filed at Marion County Fairgrounds.

Thursday: A 911 disconnect was checked in the 400 block of South Date Street. An individual was fingerprinted for employment purposes. A possible missing person was reported in the 100 block of South Date Street.

Friday: Activated commercial alarms were checked in the 600 block of North Ash Street and at Hillsboro Heights. Hillsboro City Council packets were delivered. A child custody dispute was reported in the 300 block of South Birch Street. A reckless driver complaint was filed on Indigo Road.

Saturday: A motorist received assistance. A civil standby was provided in the 400 block of North Main Street. An individual was fingerprinted for employment purposes. A parking complaint was reported in the 200 block of South Birch Street. A broken vehicle window was reported in the 600 block of West Grand Street. Assistance was provided to the sheriff’s department with an out-of-control child. A juvenile disturbance was reported in the 600 block of West Grand Street. An officer located several minors who had consumed alcohol. An individual reported someone had covered his car with food at B and Adams streets, causing damage. A noise complaint was filed in the 400 block of South Birch Street as a result of a concert at Marion County Fairgrounds. Suspicious activity was checked in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street.
