An individual reported to officers that someone had gained access to her debit card account and made unauthorized purchases. The activity appeared to have been generated from outside the U.S.
Sept. 9: Assistance was provided with an activated fire alarm at Hillsboro Industrial Park. A small child was reported riding a toy motorcycle in the street in the 400 block of South Main Street. A burglary complaint was filed in the 200 block of South Main Street when someone entered a residence and removed a cell phone, cigarettes, and change; a suspect has been identified and charges are pending. Suspicious activity was checked at Memorial Park.
Sept. 10: A landlord/tenant dispute in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street was determined to be a civil matter. A complaint was filed of juveniles smoking near Hillsboro schools. Assistance was provided with a peddler’s license at Hillsboro City Hall. A dog bite complaint was filed in the 100 block of South Lincoln Street. Marion County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with removing a traffic obstruction on U.S.-56.
Sept. 11: A welfare check was provided in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street. Assistance was provided to an individual with a suspicious letter that was a potential scam. An out-of-control juvenile was reported in the 500 block of South Washington Street. A suspicious person was reported at Hillsboro Community Medical Center who appeared to be intoxicated and had left the property when officers arrived.
Sept. 12: A wallet was reported missing at Hillsboro Heights and later was found. Charges are pending against a woman after a man reported she was stalking him in the 200 block of South Main Street. The sheriff’s department received assistance with a non-injury accident on 190th Road. An officer met with a parent regarding a disobedient juvenile. A welfare check was provided in the 400 block of South Main Street. Hillsboro City Council packets were delivered. Two suspicious people were checked in the 100 block of West Grand Street. A 911 disconnect was checked in the 900 block of South Ash Street.
Sept. 13: A 911 disconnect was checked on Willow Road. A welfare check was provided in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street. EMS received assistance in the 200 block of West B Street. A curfew violation was reported at Memorial Park. An out-of-control juvenile was reported in the 300 block of North Birch Street. EMS received assistance with a LifeTeam helicopter at Hillsboro Municipal Airport and in the 100 block of North Cedar Street.
Sept. 14: A noise complaint was filed in the 200 block of West B Street. An underage driver was reported driving recklessly. A commercial alarm was activated at the industrial park.
Sept. 15: A dog complaint was filed in the 500 block of East Grand Street. A landlord/tenant dispute was reported in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street. A child welfare concern was investigated in the 100 block of North Cedar Street. A motorist received assistance on U.S.-56. A suicidal individual was reported in the 400 block of North Ash Street and was transported to a mental health facility. A reckless driver complaint was filed in the 200 block of East F Street.
Sept. 16: A child custody dispute was reported in the 100 block of North Cedar Street. The Marion County command trailer was transported to the Hillsboro Arts & Crafts Fair. A phone harassment complaint was made in the 100 block of North Cedar Street. Two bicycles were seized that had been abandoned in the 400 block of North Main Street. Suspicious activity was checked in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street. A report was made of juveniles lying in the middle of Main Street. A stolen bicycle was reported in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street. A noise complaint was filed in the 200 block of East First Street.
Sept. 17: A parking complaint was filed on C Street. A stolen bicycle was reported in the 400 block of South Main Street. A dog complaint was made in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street. A funeral escort was provided. A parking complaint was filed in the 100 block of South Washington Street. A gas skip was reported in the 300 block of North Ash Street. A child welfare concern was investigated in the 300 block of North Birch Street. A welfare check was provided in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street. An officer met with a parent regarding a disobedient juvenile.
Sept. 18: A funeral escort was provided. A motorist received assistance. A dog bite complaint was made on Eisenhower Street. A camper hook-up was provided. Suspicious people were checked in the 400 block of West D Street. Assistance was provided to SRS with an investigation. A forgery was reported in the 200 block of South Cedar Street.
Sept. 19: A dog complaint was made at Hillsboro Heights. Several parking complaints were reported regarding the arts and crafts fair. Assistance was provided with placement of arts and crafts equipment. Officers barricaded streets in the downtown area and assisted with clearing the streets for the arts and crafts fair. A report was checked of juveniles throwing rocks on the roof of Hillsboro Elementary School. A noise complaint was reported at Memorial Park. Two suspicious people were checked at Hillsboro Middle School.
Sept. 20: Security was provided by officers at the arts and crafts fair. Assistance was provided to a motorist on D Street. A dog complaint was filed in the 500 block of South Main Street. Suspicious items were reported in the alley of the 200 block of South Main Street. Two runaways from Newton were picked up.
