POLICE REPORT
Hillsboro Police Department reported the following activities.
May 10 — An individual reported her missing son had returned home without incident. An out-of-control juvenile was reported in the 300 block of South Birch Street.
May 11 — Traffic complaints were filed at U.S.-56 and Santa Fe Street and Third and Washington streets.
May 12 — Assistance was provided to Kansas Bureau of Investigation with an investigation. A camper hook-up was provided at Memorial Park. Marion County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with an injury accident on K-15. A homeless person received assistance in the 300 block of North Ash Street. Assistance was provided at Hillsboro Community Hospital with an intoxicated patient.
May 13 — Lindsborg Police Department received assistance with an investigation. An individual was fingerprinted for employment purposes. A lost or stolen registration tag was reported at Hillsboro Industrial Park. SRS received assistance with an investigation. A motorist received assistance at Third and Main streets. A dog complaint was filed in the 300 block of South Ash Street. A gas skip was reported in the 300 block of North Ash Street. A permit was verified for a door-to-door salesman. A civil complaint was filed regarding a cell phone in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street.
May 14 — An individual was fingerprinted for employment purposes. Threats were reported in the 200 block of South Date Street. Hillsboro High School received assistance with a truant student. An abandoned vehicle was reported in the 600 block of South Lincoln Street. A domestic disturbance in the 300 block of North Ash Street was determined to be a verbal argument between a husband and wife. A traffic complaint was reported in the 300 block of North Washington Street. Assistance was provided to Lindsborg Police Department with an investigation.
May 15 — An individual reported damage to her vehicle while parked at HHS. An elderly man was reported missing in the 200 block of South Birch Street and later was located. Officers participated in a weather watch. A domestic disturbance in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street was determined to be a civil dispute regarding property. A non-injury accident was investigated in the 100 block of West Grand Street. Hillsboro City Council packets were delivered. Assistance was provided to Marion County Emergency Communications with an alternate dispatch site. Items reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of East Grand Street later were located and determined not stolen.
May 16 — A child welfare concern was checked in the 300 block of South Birch Street. A camper hook-up was provided in Memorial Park. Assistance was provided when Hillsboro Fire Department was called to a grass fire at Willow and Juniper streets. A confused person was reported in the 400 block of North Ash Street and family members were able to calm the individual.
May 17 — An officer instructed a taser course. A dog complaint was filed in the 800 block of East D Street. A motorist received assistance in the 400 block of North Ash Street. A domestic disturbance was reported in the 400 block of West B Street and determined to be a verbal argument between a husband and wife.
May 18 — A parking complaint was filed at Main and Grand streets. Assistance was provided to EMS in the 400 block of North Ash Street, the sheriff’s office with an investigation, and HHS with a truant student.
May 19 — A peddler’s permit was issued. Assistance was provided to the city water department with water leaks at various locations. A K-9 officer searched a vehicle. HHS received assistance with a truant student. A parking complaint was filed in the 200 block of South Cedar Street.
May 20 — A dog complaint was reported in the 500 block of West Grand Street. A follow-up investigation was conducted on a previous dog bite complaint.
May 21 — Suspicious activity was reported in the 100 block of North Birch Street. An individual reported that former tenants had damaged her residence in the 200 block of South Madison Street. A bicycle was reported stolen. An individual reported an adult was harassing a child. SRS received assistance with a child welfare check. A suspicious person was checked in the 300 block of North Ash Street. An attempted mail scam was reported in the 400 block of South Jefferson. A camper hook-up was provided at Memorial Park. An out-of-control juvenile was reported in the 300 block of South Washington Street. Suspicious activity was checked in the 500 block of North Ash Street.
May 22 — An individual in the 400 block of South Main Street reported being harassed by her ex-husband. A littering complaint was investigated in the 200 block of East First Street. Tabor College security received assistance. An individual was fingerprinted for employment purposes. HHS received assistance with a truant student. A suspicious vehicle was checked on East C Street. A possible suicidal subject in the 400 block of North Ash Street was reported. A bicycle was reported stolen in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street. A homeless person was checked south of Hillsboro on Indigo Road. An individual reported someone had “soaped” her vehicle windows; suspects later were located. An attempted theft was reported in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street.
May 23 — Dog complaints were filed at Willow Glenn and in the 300 block of South Ash Street. An individual reported the theft of a moped registration tag in the 200 block of South Eisenhower Street. A possible drunk driver was checked in the 800 block of East D Street. Several curfew violations were issued in Memorial Park. Assistance was provided to the sheriff’s department with a car-deer accident on U.S.-56.
